Protecting research or pharmaceutical materials stored in temperature-controlled units


University researchers who store research or pharmaceutical materials in a temperature-controlled unit must take action to prevent losses due to equipment malfunctions, power outages, etc. (see Loss Prevention Protocols). A Preventive Maintenance Agreement (PMA) is required along with an active inventory, continuous monitoring system, and identifiable asset or ID tag for all units to be covered by insurance. For questions, please refer to the PMA points of clarification.
