As a follow-up to the September 2023 Future of Food Town Hall and kickoff event, the Future of Food Working Group is hosting an in-person strategy planning retreat. The primary goal of this retreat is to identify and engage working group membership, organizational structure, and funding opportunity/research pursuit goals. This event is open to all research faculty, staff, post-docs, and students interested in growing the research portfolio in food; food as medicine; food security; nutrition; obesity; diet and dietary assessment; policy linked to food sovereignty, health, etc. This is a cross-campus initiative, engaging researchers from all areas of campus. Faculty from any discipline, subject area, department, or college with relationship to food research are welcome to attend. This retreat will function as a working meeting to produce deliverable research pursuits/plans for the Future of Food Working Group. Researchers currently operating in the food research space, looking for collaborators in this space, and/or planning a response to upcoming high-impact research opportunities related to food research are strongly encouraged to attend.

The retreat will take place on February 28th from 11am-3pm. Location will be provided to those who register. We recognize engaged individuals may have other events/commitments at during this time block. We would welcome your attendance for any portion of the meeting that you can make.
