DATASET Initiative looking for a Faculty Co-Director

The Data Science Ethics and Technology (DATASET) Initiative was launched in fall of 2022 to engage in foundational questions about the role of data in science and society. DATASET aims to bring together research and expertise in the theoretical, technical, ethical, historical, and policy/legal dimensions of data across the University of Utah.

The DATASET Initiative is currently led by Prof. Manish Parashar, Prof. Olivia Sheng, and Dr. Penny Atkins along with an Advisory Board consisting of six faculty members from the Departments of Entertainment Arts and Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, Management, Psychiatry, and Psychology. DATASET is part of the One Utah Data Science Hub and currently sponsors yearly programs for discovery workshops and the One Utah Data Science Hub seed grants.

Prof. Olivia Sheng has recently accepted a professor position at the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. As such, the DATASET Initiative is looking to recruit a faculty co-director to serve alongside Prof. Manish Parashar.
