The Post Research Administration Career Panel: Oct. 3rd

Research Administration Career Panel: Oct. 3rd

What does a Grants & Contracts Officer do, and how do you become one?

This is the type of question we will be discussing at the Research Administration Career Panel on October 3rd from 1-2 p.m. via Zoom (details below).

Research administration is a large and growing profession. However, most people have limited knowledge of research administration career paths, educational skills, and entry points. The purpose of this panel is to help students, staff, and faculty better understand research administration as a career. Career paths that will be featured include Grants & Contracts Officer (GCO), Research Development Professional, Grant Writer, Sponsored Program Officer (SPO), and many more!

Who is this career panel for? Short answer: Everyone!

  • For undergraduate students, this panel will increase awareness of research administration job titles, requisite skills, and entry points.
  • For graduate students, this panel will reveal a wonderful collection of careers that utilize research skills and knowledge.
  • For staff, this panel raises awareness of alternative career paths in the university system.
  • For faculty, this panel raises awareness not only of alternative career paths in research administration, but also opportunities to cultivate degree programs to prepare students for possible careers in research administration.
