STEM Safety Day 2026 will take place Friday, Oct. 2, 2026, at the Cleone Peterson Eccles Alumni House. Priority registration is now open.
This free, collaborative event brings together the University of Utah STEM community for seminars, trainings, and other sessions focused on understanding and reducing health and safety risks across research and work environments.
Whether you spend your time in a laboratory, patient-facing setting, field environment, or office, STEM Safety Day offers practical opportunities to strengthen safety in your area of work.

Priority registration is now open
Sessions will be offered in one- to two-hour blocks throughout the day, allowing participants to attend as their schedules permit. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Why register early?
- Get priority access to individual trainings and seminars when the full agenda is released at the end of August
- Choose from sessions relevant to a wide range of STEM research and work environments
- Connect with colleagues across campus around shared safety challenges and best practices
- Attend as much or as little of the day as your schedule allows
Space will be limited for many sessions, so those who complete priority registration will have the first opportunity to select sessions when the finalized agenda becomes available.
STEM Safety Day is co-hosted by the College of Science, Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine, John and Marcia Price College of Engineering, College of Pharmacy, College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, College of Health, Facilities, and Environmental Health and Safety.
