Caralynn Orbell has been appointed Events & Strategic Partnerships Manager on the OVPR Marketing and Communications team led by Amanda Ashley, supporting research and innovation.
Since joining the University of Utah’s research enterprise, Caralynn has played an important role in strengthening how the University connects with partners across Utah and beyond. Through her work supporting the Technology Licensing Office and Utah Venture Hub, she has led and supported high-visibility events and partnerships, including BIO, BioUtah, and the University’s Startup Launch Pad. Her work has increased participation, strengthened relationships, and helped ensure the University is well represented in spaces that matter to our research and innovation mission.
In this expanded role, Caralynn will lead events and strategic partnerships on behalf of the Vice President for Research, working across OVPR, the Technology Licensing Office, Utah Venture Hub, the Applied Medical Engineering Lab, emerging hubs and working groups, and cross-campus initiatives. Her focus will be on creating clear pathways for engagement, supporting faculty and research priorities, and strengthening the University’s presence within Utah’s innovation ecosystem.
