2025 Utah Works Program (UWP): UofU Intent-to-Apply Submission Portal

Extramural Funding
Talent Ready Utah (TRU) from the Utah System of Higher Education (USHE) is excited to announce the release of the 2025 Utah Works Program (UWP). Key details about this program are found below (including RSVP details on upcoming informational webinars).

The University of Utah may submit multiple applications in response to this RFP. However, the sponsor encourages the University to ensure that proposals:

  1. Align well with the institution’s mission,
  2. Reduce overlap across proposals coming from the same institution, and
  3. Not encroach on local technical colleges or community colleges.

While there is no limit to the number of applications submitted from the University of Utah, The Office of the Vice President for Research (VPR) has created an "intent-to-apply" submission portal for this opportunity. We are asking UofU faculty with interest in this opportunity to submit an “Intent-to-Apply” to this internal competition before applying to the sponsor. Doing so will allow for a strategic and coordinated response from the University of Utah, ensure efforts are not duplicated, and give University leadership the ability to connect applicants with resources such as proposal guidance, cross-campus collaborations, etc. when necessary. All submitted proposals will be reviewed by Senior Leadership. The structure of this intent-to-apply submission portal is meant to be aligned with the requirements of the full submission to the sponsor.

Please contact tyler.matsamas@utah.edu with questions. Thank you!
