Nominations Open For EHS Partnership Awards 2025

The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Partnership Award recognizes University of Utah faculty and staff who demonstrate outstanding commitment to safety as a core value. These individuals go above and beyond in collaborating with EHS to foster a strong culture of safety in their departments, labs, and workspaces.

Award recipients will receive a framed certificate and a $500 safety grant, which can be used toward enhancing safety in their area of work. Up to five awards will be given, and honorees will be recognized at the University of Utah STEM Safety Day on September 5, 2025.

Previous winners have included:

  • Ryan Looper – College of Science
  • Christopher Reilly – College of Pharmacy
  • Allison Carey – School of Medicine, Pathology
  • Mike Scarpulla – College of Engineering
  • Jim Muller & Harold Simpson – Support Functions

STEM Safety Day unites faculty, staff, and experts from across campus for free training and updates on lab, clinical, classroom, and workplace safety.

This multi-campus event features seminars and sessions aimed at helping the U’s STEM community identify and reduce health and safety risks—whether you work in a lab, clinic, classroom, or office.
