Every member of the IRB staff is responsible for a different portion of the review process. Who is the best person for you to contact?
New Study Applications are assigned to the IRB Administrators for pre-review on a rotating schedule. Currently, Milana Perepyolkina, Lisa Rigtrup, and Ammon Pate review most New Studies submitted to the IRB. After the pre-review is complete and the application is assigned to a meeting agenda or board reviewer, oversight of the application is transferred to the meeting coordinator. If the study is in a “pre-board” status, contact the assigned IRB Administrator. If the study is in a “post-board” status, contact the IRB Coordinator for the panel your application was assigned to.
If the application hasn’t been assigned or submitted yet, or for general questions regarding new studies, contact any of the IRB Administrators.
How do I know if the study is in a "pre-board" or "post-board" status?
How do I know who the assigned IRB Administrator or Coordinator is?
If the study is in a “pre-board” status, call the IRB front desk to find out who your assigned IRB Administrator is, or check your pre-board revisions letter for the Administrator’s contact information.
If the study is in a “post-board” status, determine which panel your application went to. Panel 1 meets the first calendar Wednesday of the month, Panel 2 meets the second calendar Wednesday of the month, etc. Panel 6 meets the third calendar Thursday of the month. After you have determined which panel reviewed your application, contact the IRB Coordinator assigned to that panel. Panel assignments are listed next to the Coordinator’s names on the “Contact Us” page.
Continuing Review Applications are assigned to IRB Coordinators for pre-review on a rotating schedule. After the pre-review is complete and the application is assigned to a meeting agenda or board reviewer, oversight of the application is transferred to the meeting coordinator. If the study is in a “pre-board” status, contact the assigned IRB Coordinator. If the study is in a “post-board” status, contact the IRB Coordinator for the panel your application was assigned to.
If the application hasn’t been assigned or submitted yet, or for general questions regarding continuing reviews, contact any of the IRB Coordinators.

Amendment Applications are assigned to both IRB Administrators and IRB Coordinators for pre-review on a rotating schedule. After the pre-review is complete and the application is assigned to a meeting agenda or board reviewer, oversight of the application is transferred to the meeting coordinator. If the study is in a “pre-board” status, contact the assigned IRB Administrator or Coordinator. If the study is in a “post-board” status, contact the IRB Coordinator for the panel your application was assigned to. If your Amendment was reviewed using expedited procedures, the pre-reviewer maintains oversight of the application throughout the review process, so that person will always be your contact.
If the application hasn’t been assigned or submitted yet, or for general questions regarding continuing reviews, contact any of the IRB Administrators or Coordinators.
