Primary Children's Medical Center
All studies conducted at Primary Children's Medical Center (PCMC) are required to undergo a facilities and resources review by PCMC staff before the study will be submitted to the IRB. This review ensures that PCMC can accommodate the study procedures that will be conducted at the facility. PCMC facilities and resources approval will be entered into the ERICA system.
This process follows these steps:
- Investigator enters PCMC as a study site in a new study application.
- Investigator completes the PCMC Administrative Questions Page in the application.
- After completing the entire application, the PI clicks "Submit" in ERICA.
- The application will be forwarded to the PCMC staff for review.
- PCMC will issue approval in ERICA once all concerns have been addressed.
- The application will be forwarded to the IRB for review.
Please note that the study is not considered submitted to the IRB until the PCMC staff have given approval in ERICA. The IRB staff will not review the study until this approval is received.
If the study also involves cancer patients and requires review by the Clinical Cancer Investigations Committee (CCIC), PCMC review and approval will happen before the CCIC review. Hence, the study will not be received by the IRB for review until PCMC and CCIC have reviewed the study.
