Animal welfare:
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws, as well as institutional policies and procedures related to research use of animals
  • Complete initial required training and certification
  • Complete periodic training to remain current on federal, state, and local regulations, institutional policies and procedures, and animal care and use technology
 
Biosafety/recombinant DNA:
  • Obtain all necessary training and/or certifications
  • Follow required practices and procedures
  • Report safety, fire, and health hazards, environmental deficiencies, violations, accidents/illnesses and injuries to the Principal Investigator or designee
 
Conflict of interest:
  • File Annual Financial Disclosure (AFD) form with chair/director, as necessary
  • Files project- based Conflict of Interest Form when necessary
  • Comply with Management, Monitoring and Implementation Plan ("plan") to manage any conflict of interest

Education and training:
  • Complete periodic training to remain current on federal, state, and local regulations, institutional policies and procedures, and animal care and use technology
  • Complete periodic training to remain up-to-date on federal regulations, University of Utah policies and procedures and compliance expectations in human subjects protection
  • Obtain all necessary environmental health and safety, and biosafety training and/or certifications
  • Participate in relevant OSP training
  • Participate in radiation protection training
 
Environmental health and safety:
  • Follow required practices and procedures
  • Participate in relevant training
  • Report safety, fire and health hazards, environmental deficiencies, injuries and illnesses to the Principal Investigator or designee
 
Financial management of research:
  • Comply with all applicable financial regulations and University of Utah policies and procedures
  • Report instances of non-compliance
  • Participate in training in financial administration as necessary
 
Human gene transfer:
  • Obtain all necessary training and/or certifications
  • Follow required practices and procedures
  • Report problems, violations, accidents/illnesses to the Principal Investigator or designee
 
Human subjects:
  • Adhere to federal regulations, state and local laws, institutional policies, and IRB procedures regarding the safety and protection of human subjects
  • Complete required training on human subjects protection
  • Complete periodic training to remain up-to-date on federal regulations, University of Utah policies and procedures and compliance expectations
 
Human tissue samples: N/A
 
Patents and inventions:
  • Provide assistance to the Principal Investigator and the Technology Transfer Office in support of invention disclosures, assignments to the University and licensing as needed
 
Radiation safety:
  • Comply with all federal regulations, state and local laws, institutional policies and RSO procedures regarding radiation safety
  • Participate in radiation protection training as necessary
 
Sponsored projects administration:
  • Participate in relevant OSP training as necessary
