Policies & Guidelines for Centers & Institutes

The Graduate Council reviews and evaluates proposals for new centers, institutes and bureaus. Units wishing to propose a new center or institute should follow guidelines as outlined through the Curriculum Administration web page and choose New Center, Institute or Bureau.

New centers and institutes are approved first by the Graduate Council, followed by the Academic Senate, Board of Trustees, and Board of Regents. For further information on submitting a proposal for a new center or institute, please contact Eloisa Puentes in the Graduate School at 801-581-6925 or eloisa.puentes@utah.edu.
